Kat Leong
Undergraduate Researcher
Kat is a UC Berkeley freshman majoring in Nuclear Engineering. They are currently working on hardware calibration and maintenance, development of DoseNet network devices, and outreach events for the group.
They are mainly interested in how radioactive materials affect surrounding environments and how they can be efficiently detected with machine learning. Outside of RadWatch, Kat DJs for the university’s freeform radio KALX 90.7 under the moniker ‘Gamma Knife’. Kat also enjoys playing Magic: The Gathering, building Gunpla, and collecting records.
