His main duties involve assisting Dr. Ali Hanks in the many research projects that Radwatch offers, mentoring summer interns, and assisting PhD students in their endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst the myriad of projects he is involved with, the DECRISP (Detection of Earthquakes and Cosmic Ray Induced Signatures Project) system is Ben&#8217;s passion project, aimed at developing a system network in hopes of predicting catastrophic earthquakes by correlating seismic activity with the theoretical elevation of radon gasses from erupting fissures deep within the earth&#8217;s crust.<\/p>\n<p>Ben is also involved in many other projects, from mechanical design of stationary and mobile chemical and radiological monitoring systems to portable radiological contamination detection devices.<\/p>\n<p>In his free time, he enjoys portrait RTS gaming, oil painting, and portrait photography.<\/p>\n<p>Check out his online photography portfolio at: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jujubeleaflet.com\/photos\">www.jujubeleaflet.com\/photos<\/a>!<\/p>","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":1459,"menu_order":18,"template":"","team_designation":[62],"team_department":[],"class_list":["post-727","team","type-team","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","team_designation-alumni","post","post-with-thumbnail","post-with-thumbnail-large"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.0 -
